Setup your AA Keyboard your way with custom key binds!
There are a few ways to bind keys in America's Army.
- Game Settings (In game) - The in game settings menu
- Enter them in the Console (In game) - Open the console and manually enter a bind
- Edit User.ini - Edit the User.ini file (Always make a backup!)
1. Game Settings:- While the game is loaded, you can change the default (Basic) key binds (Movement, Chat, Reload, Etc.)
2. Console:- While the game is loaded, you can use the game Console to manually change most key binds or enter custom key binds: ` key (Next to the 1 on most keyboards)
- Open the Console
- Enter your key bind:
- Example: bind 1 reload
- Example: bind 1 mpcheat class sf
- Hit Enter to save it.
3. Edit the User.ini:- While the game is CLOSED, you can manually edit or add custom key binds
- Right click the America's Army game icon on your desktop and select 'Open file location'
- Find the User.ini file and open/edit it with your favorite text editor (notepad will work fine)
- Make a backup of it before you make any changes by selecting File > Save As > User-orig.ini (I use User-orig.ini - it's easy to remember and will be right next to the original alphabetically.)
- Scroll down until you see [Engine.Input] - This is where the key binds start
- The keyboard binds start with 0= and end with NumPadPeriod=
- As you scroll down, you will see the available keys and what they are bound to or empty (You can change any of them)
- To set a bind, just find the key you want to use and add or change whatever is after the = sign to your custom bind
- Save
- Make a backup of your custom binds named User-custom.ini and close everything
- Open the game, join a server and test them out!
Examples of custom Tadmin and mpcheat key binds:- Comma=mutate beadmin
- Minus=mutate endgame
- Period=mpcheat paramsammo 01
- Backslash=mpcheat class spr
NOTE: If you make any more changes remember to update your backup file after testing.
Now, if you screwed something up (like hit 'reset' in the in-game settings) or for some reason your key binds disappear, you can just open either User-orig.ini or User-custom.ini and select all then copy and paste everything into the User.ini file and restart your game!
Enjoy!

Disable Laptop mouse/touchpad (Win 11) |

Sometimes while I'm gaming I'll tap the touchpad by accident and undesirable things happen, like minimize my game, switch to another program/app, etc. and closes my game. I found a way to easily disable it before gaming or to only have it enabled when a mouse is not plugged in:
- To disable the touchpad on your laptop, Windows 11 has a setting under Settings > Bluetooth & devices that allows you to disable the touchpad.
- Turn it on/off to disable/enable the touchpad.
- Uncheck 'Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected' so it will auto-enable if you disconnect your mouse.
Now the touchpad will only work if you do not have a mouse connected!
Enjoy!

Ever hit the Windows key by accident while in a game and the menu pops up or closes your game?
Well, I do all the time because my push-to-talk for voice chat is right next to it. - Download Microsoft Power Toys from GitHub HERE
- Install it and go to Keyboard Manager > Remap a key
- Select: your Win key
- Send To: Disable (Use the drop down menu under Send key/Shortcut to select Disable)
- Hit OK (If a warning pops up, select 'Continue anyway')
Now your Win key is disabled while Power Toys is loaded and active!
Since I use the Win key when I'm not gaming, I changed the setting for 'Run at startup' (Under the 'General' menu selection) to 'Off' and only start Power Toys when I'm gaming.
Enjoy!

Quote:How to play Delta Force 2 (DF2) on Windows 11
WINDOWS 11 DISPLAY FIX FOR DF2
I got it working, wohoo... After a lot of googling and dead ends I finally managed to find the right tool for the job. https://sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd/
- Download dxwnd and the attached dxw file.
- Extract DXWnd_file_for_DF2.zip and put the extracted file in your DF2 folder.
- Unpack it and run dxwnd.exe
- In DXWnd - Go to Menu -> File -> Import and select DXWnd_file_for_DF2.dxw file in your DF2 folder.
- Right click on DF2 - > Modify to modify the path to your DF2.exe file and click OK and remember to save the settings.
- Good to go, now just remember to start DXWnd before running DF2, or run DF2 from within DXWnd.
Enjoy playing DF2 again
